Encoding and missing data errors are present for many of the lesser filled out areas of Eoscala, Confoederatio's main geospatial economic database. It is highly interlinked with errors regarding Velkscala and Stadestér due to the fact that a large part of long-run historical economic estimates are linked to population bases and their estimated GDP per capita, although Eoscala is principally based on a hybrid demographic/land-use model, and not merely population alone.
Many of these errors come from missing Maddison data, which must be filled in manually. We have designated such errors as Stage 1 errors since they can be easily redressed and are crucial for modern data fidelity post-1800. We also plan to adjust Maddison/Clio-Infra by other historical economic databases, including primary sources, and the work of both Rosés-Wolf and Broadberry and Gupta due to what we understand to be systematic downweighting of GDP per capita prior to modern times.
Maddison has a hard-cutoff of 2022AD, although the present year is currently 2025AD. Future ameliorative versions of Eoscala would do well to correct this issue by looking at modern GDP growth statistics and modelling it outwards.
Known errors are sorted alphabetically. Stage 1 errors refer to missing data regarding Maddison GDP per capita estimates. All Maddison errors are by definition between the period 1820-2022AD, from which data exists for most countries in the MPD.
